PHOTO Alert: Disney Cruise Line Brings Magic to New York City

Today, Disney Cruise Line sailed the Disney Magic into New York City for the first time.  The ship arrived shrouded in a blanket of fog around 9:30am, passed under the Verrazano-Narrows bridge at 10:00am, and ultimately docked near Chelsea Piers to prepare for the first of 20 cruises departing from New York.  However, the crew had a short work day in New York City, and departed in the evening for her first cruise to the Bahamas.  Bon Voyage!  Friend of Adventures by Daddy and New Yorker, George Gensler, was on hand for the ship’s sighting, and shared these photos of the Magic’s departure down the Hudson River.  Continue reading for more photos of the Disney Magic’s first cruise from her Big Apple port.

The Magic was festooned with the “World’s Largest Bumper Sticker” measuring 50-feet-long by 11-feet-wide and larger than a city bus.

Did any other readers see the Disney Magic sail into or out of New York City today?  What were your impressions of the occasion?

The Disney Magic will sail a total of 20 cruises from New York – including eight-night cruises to the Bahamas, five-night cruises up the New England coast to Canada, and 3 special two-night weekend getaway cruises.  Any of our readers out there booked on one of the upcoming Disney Cruises out of New York?

Thank you to George Gensler for sharing these photos of the Disney Magic.  Be sure to check out more of George’s report on the Disney D23 Fanniversary event held in New York City.  For more family travel news, reviews, and trip reports, be sure to follow Adventures by Daddy on twitter and “like” our facebook page too.
