On December 6, 2012, Walt Disney World held the Grand Opening festivities for New Fantasyland – the largest expansion in the history of the Magic Kingdom. One of the new attractions in the land is Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid, where guests can enter Prince Eric’s castle, sit in a giant clam shell, and relive the story of the Disney animated film The Little Mermaid. To celebrate the opening of this new attraction, we are auctioning a print of Eric’s Castle signed by the voice of Ariel, Jodi Benson. 100% of the proceeds from this auction will go towards helping children with life-threatening illnesses visit Walt Disney World and stay at Give Kids The World Village. During New Fantasyland’s Grand Opening ceremony, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Tom Staggs said,
Walt Disney once promised that Disneyland, and by extension all of our parks, would never be complete as long as there is imagination left in the world. New Fantasyland is a spectacular addition to the Magic Kingdom that delivers on Walt’s promise. We’re thrilled to take guests beyond the walls of Cinderella Castle to discover new worlds featuring iconic Disney characters and stories in ways that are more imaginative, more interactive and more immersive than ever before.
Tracy Whipple, owner of the Travel on a Dream travel agency, was on hand for the event, and donated this matted print of Eric’s castle for Jodi Benson to sign in order to raise money for Give Kids The World.
