Cancun’s Moon Palace Hosts Cirque Dreams in Summer 2013

In 2012, Palace Resorts partnered with Cirque Dreams to bring Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy to Moon Palace their all-inclusive golf and spa resort in Cancun, Mexico.  The show proved to be such a hit, they’re bringing it back in the Summer of 2013, but with a twist.  Director and creator Neil Goldberg has created a new show called Cirque Dreams Rocks that will perform in an air conditioned big top on the grounds of the resort.  Continue reading for more details from Palace Resorts’ press release.

Palace Resorts – the company that sets the standard in five-star, all-inclusive resort accommodations – is pleased to announce the return of Cirque Dreams this summer.  Back by popular demand, this limited engagement of the company’s newest spellbinding pop rock stage spectacle, Cirque Dreams Rocks, comes to life at the resort from June 28 through August 11, 2013.  Following the success of last summer’s  partnership with the company, where Moon Palace guests experienced the history making Broadway show, Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy, Neil Goldberg’s newest critically-acclaimed production returns.  As an added bonus, kids stay free all summer and Palace Resorts guests who book a stay of five nights or more will receive two complimentary tickets to the performance.  Additional tickets will be available for purchase through Ticketmaster.

Created and directed by renown theatrical and circus impresario Neil Goldberg, Cirque Dreams Rocks is a non-stop singing, dancing, music and acrobatic stage spectacle, mixing decades of pop and rock hits entertaining guests of all ages.  Cirque Dreams features daring aerialists, gravity defying balancers, powerful strongmen and an array of edgy, awe-inspiring acts.  The show will be accompanied by a talented troupe of dancers, vocalists and musicians performing chart topping hits.  Promising a sensory overload, Cirque Dreams Rocks combines live music and fantasy as well as elaborate lighting, special effects and crowd-pleasing hits including “Like a Prayer,” “Rapper’s Delight,” “Womanizer,” “Zoot Suit Riot,” “I Love the Nightlife” and more.  This incredible performance will be presented under a giant, air-conditioned tent being set up exclusively for the presentation of Cirque Dreams Rocks.  The big top is equipped with special rigging and dramatic lighting for the ultimate show experience.

Palace Resorts & Cirque Dreams partnership will also delight the resort’s younger guests, with the return of Cirque Dreams KidsTime, a youth-oriented interactive experience at Moon Palace’s Connection Zone kid’s club.  Cirque Dreams KidsTime is a series of professionally developed and crafted programs tailored for kids to learn, laugh and explore their own imaginations.  The hour-long masterclass led by Cirque Dreams talented performers and skilled experts, is designed for children between the ages of six and 12 and is available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 1 pm.  Kids can participate in lessons ranging from choreographed stretching and group interactions to motivational developmental activities and cognitive enrichment.  Programs include:

  • Jingle Juggling:  pairing the art of manipulation with musical timing, precision and showmanship.
  • Fast Step: blending synchronized rope-skipping and movements with exercise and body coordination.
  • Explorabotics: exploring artistic imagery and shapes with rhythmic acrobatics, gymnastics and balancing.

Demonstrations by professionals will showcase each of the masterful art forms in an entertaining fashion, followed by an immersive interactive experience.  Cirque Dreams KidsTime is designed to fulfill children’s appetites for creative activity, while expanding their horizons in a healthy, nurturing and fun environment.
