Convenience of Cell, Ease of a Landline: VTech Connect to Cell System

“Honey!  Can you pick up the phone!”  I hear my cell phone ringing… I’m in the basement folding laundry.  There’s no way I’ll reach it in time.  “Honey!  Are you up there?  Can you answer my phone?”  Too late, I missed it.  Arrgh.  How many times has this happened to you?  I’m currently testing VTech’s Connect to Cell cordless system, a new cordless phone for the home that allows you to fuse your smartphone or mobile device with your landline.  Heck, maybe you’ve totally gotten rid of your landline.  That’s OK, VTech’s Connect to Cell system can work entirely through your cell service acting as a landline for your home.  Continue reading for more of what I thought of VTech’s new system.

VTech Connect to Cell System

I see a couple of major advantages after testing out the VTech Connect to Cell system.  First, many of us have given up our landlines in favor of our smartphone.  Who needs that additional telephone bill for a service you’re not really using.  We always had a VTech cordless phone for our land line, now the VTech Connect to Cell system now gives us multiple handsets just like we had before.  My wife and I can talk with our family together without hovering over one cell phone speaker.  Second, I can transfer all my cell phone contacts into this VTech Connect to Cell phone.  At the touch of a button, I can call anyone on my cell phone contact list.  Very convenient.

VTech Connect to Cell with Machine

The VTech Connect to Cell two handset system is reasonably priced for a home phone (starting around $50), enhance the cell phone experience in the home, and is a great option for those without a landline.  Two different models both connect with up to two cellphones and store up to 200 cellphone directory entries, so mobile calls are accessible from the comfort of a cordless handset.  Users can add up to five handsets on both models, effectively ending the mad dash to find the cellphone, because the call can be answered from any of the handsets.  An added benefit for those who like a central home answering machine for landline calls, one model comes with a digital answering system with up to 14 minutes of recording time.
