VIDEO Walt Disney World Christmas Decorations at the Resorts

If there’s one thing Disney does well, it’s Christmas.  In the theme parks, there are so many ways to get in the Christmas spirit such as: the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and even the Jungle Cruise has a minor Christmas Jingle Cruise overlay this year.  But you know what?  You don’t even need to purchase a Disney Theme Park ticket to see over the top Christmas displays, because the hotels and resorts decorate to the nines as well.  Continue reading for a video glimpse at the incredible Walt Disney World Christmas decorations at the resorts including a life-sized Gingerbread House at Disney’s Grand Floridian and a Mary Blair inspired tree at Disney’s Contemporary resort.  We’ll continue to add more videos to the post as the season continues.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa

For the past 15 years, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort has constructed a life-size Gingerbread House in the lobby of the hotel.  It’s impossible to miss the smell of Gingerbread wafting through the halls.  Wonder what’s inside the Gingerbread House?  Well, in true Disney fashion, it’s a gift shop – selling smaller renditions of the Gingerbread House for guests to take home.

Here’s a look at the Grand Floridian’s Christmas tree and the rest of its lobby decorations too.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

The Grand Canyon Concourse of Disney’s Contemporary Resort contains a four-story mosaic mural by Disney Imagineer & artist Mary Blair (of it’s a small world fame).  For the holidays, a Christmas tree made out of Gingerbread shingles is erected in front of the mural, with Mary Blair inspired dolls adorning the branches.

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

A grand Christmas tree is set up outside on the lawn at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn as well as their own gingerbread display in the lobby.

These aren’t the only Disney resort hotels dressed up for the holidays.  Over the days leading up to Christmas, we’ll continue to add more videos of the Walt Disney World Christmas decorations to this post.  You can also find elaborate displays at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort, and it’s hard to beat Gaylord Palms ICE! just off Disney property.

About John Saccheri

John Saccheri has been rooted in the Disney culture from childhood. John only had the opportunity to visit Walt Disney World once, at the age of 5. After returning home, he never stopped talking about it, yearning to return. His parents were worried about this “obsession,” but John began working at the age of 12 with a focus on saving up for the next Disney trip. He was able to visit Disney World at least once a year from 14 years old onward. Today, a successful entrepreneur, John was able to move from his hometown of Long Island, New York, to Central Florida to be close to the Mouse. Going to the parks still seems like a fantasy to him!
