The Olympic Regional Development Authority, Ski Areas of New York, and I♥New York invited Adventures by Daddy to an expo, of sorts, to promote skiing in New York State.   This season there are a number of special offers to help people get out on the slopes and with the snow falling already, it looks like it’s going to be a nice, long season.

I Ski NY is offering a Free for Kids Passport Program for children in 3rd and 4th grades.  The passport allows 3rd and 4th grade students to ski or ride free up to 3 times at participating ski areas or to participate in the “Learn to Ski or Ride” package.  For just $22, students can participate in both programs.

January is National Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month and I Ski NY is offering a discount voucher that can be used at 28 New York State ski resorts.  New skiers and snowboarders will get lift tickets, equipment rentals, and lessons for just $35.

  1. I am biased because both my kids learned at Mt Peter in Warwick, NY BUT it’s only an hour from NYC, offers free beginner lessons on weekends and holidays and is a relaxed family place. Check it out if you’re in NYC, Long Island or Bergen County, NJ. Worth the trip!

    • The representatives at the expo were very enthusiastic about skiing, especially teaching beginners. I’m in NYC and I think I would pick Mt. Peter if I were going on a skiing day trip. Thank you for your recommendation!
