Stormtroopers Sing FROZEN During Star Wars Weekends 2014

Have you ever experienced an attraction overlay? Where the theming of an attraction is hijacked temporarily by a movie or holiday?  Examples would be the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland getting The Nightmare Before Christmas overlay or the Jungle Cruise becoming the Jingle Cruise.  That’s basically what happens to Disney’s Hollywood Studios during Star Wars Weekends, but instead of it being attraction based, the entire park gets a Star Wars overlay on these select Star Wars Weekends Friday, Saturdays and Sundays May 16th – June 15th, 2014.  Continue reading for a video glimpse of Star Wars Weekends 2014 including a hysterical rendition of “Let It Go” from Disney’s FROZEN sung by Stormtroopers.

Star Wars Weekends 2014

Stormtroopers line the rooftops upon entry and specially themed food, beverage and merchandise is everywhere.  I especially enjoyed the Dark Side alcoholic beverage complete with a light up Death Star “ice cube.” The force drink comes with a light up “ice” light saber.

Star Wars Weekends 2014

Celebrity guests change each weekend but the event’s host remains constant.  Multi-talented voice actor James Arnold Taylor (Obi Wan Kenobi from The Clone Wars) is the host and master of ceremonies as he was last year.  None other than Mark Hamill himself (Luke Skywalker) will be a guest during weekend number four for the first time in the event’s history.

Celebrity talk shows are held in the Premiere Theatre (near Muppetvision 3D) as well as other special events.  Fastpasses are limited but available for special shows.  A celebrity motorcade makes its way down Sunset Boulevard, and the iconic Sorcerer’s Hat becomes a Star Wars stage with entertainment throughout the day.  Click here to watch our VIDEO of the 2013 Star Wars Weekends celebrity motorcade.

This year, the popular Hyperspace Hoopla show has been cancelled but a spectacular nighttime fireworks extravaganza “Symphony In The Stars” is breathtaking.  The pre-show brings a character finale to the stage and leaves you with the feeling of the Force!

May the Force be with you… always.  For more family travel news, reviews, and trip reports, be sure to follow Adventures by Daddy on Twitter and “like” our Facebook page, too.

About John Saccheri

John Saccheri has been rooted in the Disney culture from childhood. John only had the opportunity to visit Walt Disney World once, at the age of 5. After returning home, he never stopped talking about it, yearning to return. His parents were worried about this “obsession,” but John began working at the age of 12 with a focus on saving up for the next Disney trip. He was able to visit Disney World at least once a year from 14 years old onward. Today, a successful entrepreneur, John was able to move from his hometown of Long Island, New York, to Central Florida to be close to the Mouse. Going to the parks still seems like a fantasy to him!
