Writing Our Own Story During THE BOOK OF LIFE Family Movie Night

20th Century Fox’s THE BOOK OF LIFE is now available on Blu-ray, and we received a copy of our own to enjoy together as a family.  Friday night is traditionally family pizza movie night in our house, so we decided to make it a BOOK OF LIFE fiesta, and the strong theme of “write your own story” encouraged us to think about our goals for the year.

Thanks to Fox Home Entertainment, we had all the necessary supplies (and more).

All we needed was the pizza, and Chuy (Maria’s pet pig) just loves pizza… although, is there a food a pig doesn’t love?

What better way to celebrate macho, mustached town hero Joaquin, than with marvelous mustachio cupcakes?

BOOK OF LIFE Family Movie Night

As we settled in to watch THE BOOK OF LIFE, we were enthralled in the vibrant colors, animation style, and beautiful story.  The message of being independent, true to yourself, following your own heart, and writing your own story rang loud and true throughout the film.  Afterwards, we printed out resolution sheets, and thought about how we would write our own story in the coming year.  THE BOOK OF LIFE led to a great family discussion.  We talked about spending more time with friends and family, going to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and continuing to be active and healthy.  You can click on the links below for to open your own printable New Year’s Resolution pdf sheet.
