Update January 17, 2016

Princess Leia, the unstoppable Rebel hero featured in both the original Star Wars trilogy as well as the recent Star Wars: The Force Awakens, makes her “Star Wars Rebels” debut when an all-new episode of “Star Wars Rebels” airs Wednesday, January 20 (9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney XD.

Star Wars Rebels

An aide to Bail Organa (Princess Leia Organa) is sent to Lothal with ships for the rebel fleet, but an Imperial lockdown forces the rebels to create a new plan to steal the vehicles.

Taking place three years before the events of A New Hope, Leia is introduced as a young leader on her way to becoming the strong, more resolute character portrayed in the original trilogy.

Star Wars Rebels

“One of the complex challenges of depicting Leia in ‘Star Wars Rebels’ is that we have to remind the audience that she is part of the Empire at this point,” says Executive Producer / Supervising Director Dave Filoni. “She doesn’t believe in the Empire, but she is acting the part, almost as a double agent. The Empire sees her as a privileged princess who runs mercy missions to wayward worlds, but in truth she is much stronger and more dangerous than they imagine.”

Appearing in her only episode of the season, the young Princess Leia is voiced by Julie Dolan, who also lent her vocal talents to the Rebel leader featured in Disney’s Star Tours attraction. Her character’s appearance in “Star Wars Rebels” portrays the beginnings of the seasoned general we meet again in The Force Awakens, her royal heritage all but eclipsed by her hard-won military stature.

“There really is no other character quite like her,” says Filoni. “And to quote The Force Awakens’ Lor San Tekka, ‘She’ll always be royalty to me.’”

And to get the fan base even more excited for the mid-season “awakening” of “Star Wars Rebels.”

Update October 21, 2015

The rebels join forces with ex-clone troopers Captain Rex, Wolffe and Gregor when an all-new episode of “Star Wars Rebels” airs Wednesday, October 14 (9:30 p.m. ET/PT) on Disney XD.

While Kanan struggles with trust issues, Ezra and the other rebels begin to develop friendships with the old clones. When the Empire discovers the clones to be in league with the Rebels, the group must work together against the Imperial forces led by Agent Kallus.

Update October 13, 2015

New episodes of STAR WARS REBELS begin tomorrow, Wednesday, October 14 (9:30 pm ET/PT) on Disney XD.

The Rebel crew is given a mission by Ahsoka Tano to find and recruit a veteran war hero whose experience and leadership would make him an excellent ally. However, when the crew discovers the hero to be an old clone, trust issues put the mission in jeopardy.

Update October 8, 2015

Fans attending the STAR WARS REBELS panel at New York Comic-Con today were treated to an exclusive sneak peek at the second season of the popular Disney XD animated series with Dave Filoni (executive producer), Taylor Gray (“Ezra Bridger”), Ashley Eckstein (“Ahsoka Tano”) and Sarah Michelle Gellar (“Seventh Sister”).

Update October 3, 2015

Voice actress Sarah Michelle Gellar’s character was revealed for STAR WARS REBELS, and the “Seventh Sister” is definitely no princess.

Sarah Michelle Gellar will be featured as the cunning and crafty Seventh Sister Inquisitor in the transformative second season of Star Wars Rebels. A master of deception, the Seventh Sister Inquisitor is tasked by Darth Vader to track down the rebels and capture any surviving Jedi. She’s conniving, manipulative, and deadly with a lightsaber.

In real life, Sarah Michelle Gellar is married to Freddie Prinze Jr. the voice of one of the last remaining Jedi, Kanan.  Gellar comments that the Seventh Sister Inquisitor plays “cat and mouse” with Kanan in the show.
