On February 12th at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort at Walt Disney World, Cinderella’s Princess Promenade debuted. This Princess Promenade was a test of an event Disney plans to offer as a daily occurrence. Take a look at the VIDEO below, and let us know if this would appeal to you and your family.
At 3:30 pm Princess Cinderella meets with children of all ages at the M. Mouse Mercantile retail location on the second level, near the monorail entrance/exit. Our host, Princess Pedal (Rose for short) announces the start of the Princess Promenade, and Cinderella & Prince Charming lead the children down the Grand Staircase in the center of the lobby and pose for photos with each child at the bottom. Disney’s Photopass photographers are on hand to capture the moments, all while the Grand Floridian orchestra plays soft music from the balcony.
Then, Cinderella and Prince Charming begin a Grand Waltz in the center of the lobby by the piano and have the children join in. All this happens while the glorious live orchestra plays classic tunes from Cinderella. It only lasts a short while before the Grand Floridian turns back into its quiet self, but it certainly adds a touch of magic (for free) to children of all ages.
Be sure to check times and if the starting area changes as these things are subject to change as they tweak the experience. February 12th was the first day for this special event, and I am so glad to see Disney adding these special non-ticketed touches for their guests. BRAVO!
