“She Said Yes!” Dapper Day 2016 at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom

She Said Yes!!!  Saturday was Dapper Day at the Magic Kingdom.  This is a fan created event that Disney appears to support ever so slightly although not officially.  Basically, event participants in the thousands get all dressed up, not to create a specific time period but to harken back to a time when people put on their best before venturing out.  There is also a lot of Disney Bounding which I understand to be character inspired clothes – where while you are not in a character costume, you can ascertain a character from the theme and colors of the clothing.

Dapper Day Magic Kingdom Proposal

Disney Dapper Darlins’ is a popular Facebook group that can help you join if you are interested in future events. On Saturday, the Darlins’ hijacked the end of the Move It Shake it Dance and Play it parade to put on their own processional. See the video below.

Afterwards – 3 surprise wedding proposals took place in grand fashion in front of Cinderella’s Castle.  You can’t get more romantic than that, can you?

Meanwhile, inside Tony’s Town Square, the Dapper Dans put on a gorgeous rendition of Bella Notte from Disney’s Lady and the Tramp to open up Tony’s Town Square restaurant.

Look for more Dapper events and videos to come.  For more family travel news, reviews, and trip reports, be sure to follow Adventures by Daddy on Twitter and “like” our Facebook page, too.

About John Saccheri

John Saccheri has been rooted in the Disney culture from childhood. John only had the opportunity to visit Walt Disney World once, at the age of 5. After returning home, he never stopped talking about it, yearning to return. His parents were worried about this “obsession,” but John began working at the age of 12 with a focus on saving up for the next Disney trip. He was able to visit Disney World at least once a year from 14 years old onward. Today, a successful entrepreneur, John was able to move from his hometown of Long Island, New York, to Central Florida to be close to the Mouse. Going to the parks still seems like a fantasy to him!
