B! Amazing! B, B! Amazing! Sorry, I got a little carried away thinking back to my stay at Disney Spring’s B Resort and Spa. Sleek, modern, arty, and sophisticated, the B Resort and Spa was a surprising treat at Walt Disney World, and not at all what I expected in the theme park capital of the world. Continue reading for more details, photos, and review of my stay at the the B Resort and Spa in Disney Springs.
Location and Lobby
The B Resort and Spa in Disney Springs has a crisp, clean almost futuristic-looking lobby filled with glistening white marble, a waterfall and highlighted with blue accent lighting.
Funky, colorful furniture positioned around bright shag carpeting broke up the mass of white marble. The B Resort and Spa has close to 400 rooms, and they were filled to capacity during my visit. However, check-in was quick and easy with a friendly, welcoming staff behind the desk. They explained the amenities of the resort, the benefits of the Disney Springs area, and directed me to the exterior glass elevator that offered spectacular views of the Disney Springs shopping and entertainment complex.
Accommodations
For as large as The B Resort and Spa is, it felt much more like a smaller boutique hotel than a sprawling resort in one of the largest tourist areas in the world. The room was large, and I loved its modern furnishings – complete with a soft stuffed frog perched atop my bed (these were a mascot of the resort and available for purchase in the lobby gift shop). My room on the 16th floor had a large, soft king sized bed, a love seat that also served as a pull out bed, desk, and flat screen TV. Windows offered spectacular views of Disney Springs.
The bathroom area was its own “mini-spa” decorated with orchids, rainforest shower, and Aveda products. My wife asked me to bring as many Aveda shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and moisturizer bottles home with me as I could.
The attentive staff called shortly upon my arrival in the room to make sure everything was OK, and asked if there was anything I needed.
Restaurants and Dining
The main restaurant of the B Resort and Spa is the American Kitchen Bar & Grill specializing in comfort food and styled like a Southern BBQ road house. A 1951 flatbed Ford pickup truck serves as a focal point to the restaurant as well as the buffet station – an unlimited salad bar in the evening and breakfast in the morning.
Of course, when in Walt Disney World you can’t have breakfast without Mickey Mouse shaped waffles, and American Kitchen aimed to please. In addition to the Mickey waffles there were plenty of eggs, breakfast meats, fresh fruit, oatmeal and pastries. Everything a family needed to fuel up before hitting the theme parks.
Looking for a quicker option? “The Pickup” offers coffee and grab-and-go breakfast, sandwiches, and snacks to get you on your way. Get it? There’s a flatbed truck in the main restaurant, and the grab-and-go snack shop’s name is “The Pickup.” I see what they did there… oh, and don’t miss the full-service ice cream shop inside offering hand dipped cones, sundaes, and banana splits. Yuuummmmmyyy!!!
Amenities, Pool, and Spa
Being in Florida, the B Resort and Spa embraces its outdoor spaces with comfortable, cozy seating in conversational nooks, an oversized chess board, and many lounge chairs situated around the zero-entry pool and hot tub. There’s an outdoor bar and grill for drinks and snacks, and even garden suites with patios backing onto the pool offering ease of access.
Adjacent to the pool is a full-service Aveda spa, allowing guests to B-indulged with massages, skin and nail treatments. There’s also hair and makeup services available, perfect for those getting married in the space. The hotel fitness center is a room off of the spa, and is complete with a wide variety of cardio and weight lifting equipment.
The B Resort and Spa is just one of the seven Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels, that all include exclusive benefits such as the ability to purchase theme park admission in the hotel, ability to book advance dining and dinner show reservations for all restaurants across the Walt Disney World Resort property, complimentary buses to the Disney parks, advance tee times and discounts at all Walt Disney World Resort golf courses, and a Disney merchandise store located in each hotel. The B Resort and Spa is an impressive hotel, offering well-appointed, comfortable rooms convenient to Walt Disney World resort without feeling like you are in the middle of the craziness of a theme park.
