VIDEO Tour of Disney Springs Town Center – Big, Bold, and More than Expected

Most people, I think, expected the Disney Springs Town Center expansion to be big – but just how big is another story.  On May 15, 2016, Walt Disney World did a small opening ceremony of the new area.  I hear a big grand ceremony will be held around October when everything is complete.  A family was chosen to be the “first” family ever to enter the new Disney Springs Town Center.  Continue reading for a full VIDEO tour.

The Town Center will ultimately be home to hundreds of new retail shops and eateries such as Anthropologie, ZARA, LACOSTE and Lucky Brand, as well as some brands that are new to the Central Florida market, such as UNIQLO, Melissa Shoes and UNOde50.  Within Disney Springs Town Center, Guests will find exceptional shopping and dining experiences along with breathtaking vistas overlooking “The Spring,” the heart and soul of the property.

At this time, about 40 locations are new.  Some notable places to visit are Sprinkles Cupcakes, Amorettes Bakery and be sure to stroll around and take in the sheer breath of it all.

I twisted and turned so much, I lost track of where I was and for someone that knew this property inside and out, I found myself constantly saying “where are we?”  At some point, a new entrance to The World of Disney caught me totally by surprise.  I was like, World of Disney is nowhere near where I thought we were.

Some may say, Disney simply opened up a shopping mall.  While that may be true, what a gorgeous shopping mall indeed.  One that didn’t take away any of the existing land of what we knew as Pleasure Island or Downtown Disney. This was a parking lot.  Speaking of parking lots, the new Lime garage that connects to Town Center is also open and it is a very convenient way to park and enter Disney Springs.

Looks like STK Steakhouse is opening up next week.  Click here for our VIDEO tour of some of the new restaurants already open at Disney Springs such as The Boathouse and Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar.  I can’t wait to see what the Springs has in store for us in the future.

About John Saccheri

John Saccheri has been rooted in the Disney culture from childhood. John only had the opportunity to visit Walt Disney World once, at the age of 5. After returning home, he never stopped talking about it, yearning to return. His parents were worried about this “obsession,” but John began working at the age of 12 with a focus on saving up for the next Disney trip. He was able to visit Disney World at least once a year from 14 years old onward. Today, a successful entrepreneur, John was able to move from his hometown of Long Island, New York, to Central Florida to be close to the Mouse. Going to the parks still seems like a fantasy to him!
