Meat & Potatoes Character Meet and Greets at Walt Disney World

Character meet and greets at Walt Disney World are not all created equal.  Some are simply bare bones while others have highly themed environments (indoor and out).  Some have interactive characters that can talk and chat with you about current events, such as the interactive talking Mickey Mouse that debuted at the Magic Kingdom in 2013.  Some are much more quiet but expressive.  Continue reading for VIDEO of two new character greeting experiences at Disney’s Hollywood Studios where you can join some of your favorite Disney Characters as they live out their Hollywood dreams.

Two new character meet and greets have sprung up at Disney’s Hollywood Studios that fall somewhere in between.  I say “in between” because while the characters are not interactive (my favorite type of meet & greet), they do have highly themed areas and are indoors gloriously air conditioned for the summer.

The first one is Olaf from FROZEN.  This is located across from the Commissary restaurant in the building where the American Idol auditions were once held.  Olaf is in his “In Summer” scene complete with sand and umbrella.  It’s quite adorable as is he.

Next is “Red Carpet Dreams” where you can meet both Mickey and Minnie Mouse, although separately.
Minnie is decked out in Hollywood Glamour while her Beau is waiting for you, as Sorcerer Mickey (supposed to be a movie set perhaps?) in the next room.

As usual, meeting these characters is a great fun experience for young and old.  I do hear we might be getting a Goofy interactive meet and greet at the Magic Kingdom sometime very soon. This, I can’t wait for.

About John Saccheri

John Saccheri has been rooted in the Disney culture from childhood. John only had the opportunity to visit Walt Disney World once, at the age of 5. After returning home, he never stopped talking about it, yearning to return. His parents were worried about this “obsession,” but John began working at the age of 12 with a focus on saving up for the next Disney trip. He was able to visit Disney World at least once a year from 14 years old onward. Today, a successful entrepreneur, John was able to move from his hometown of Long Island, New York, to Central Florida to be close to the Mouse. Going to the parks still seems like a fantasy to him!
