Sony Pictures SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING July 7, 2017

Marvel Studios reached an agreement with Sony Pictures for the rights to Spider-Man to include the web slinger in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR.  The re-imagined Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man gets his first solo film with SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING opening July 7, 2017.  With Tom Holland as Spider-Man, the film also stars Marissa Tomei as Aunt May.  Robert Downey Jr. will also appear as the iconic Marvel super hero Iron Man.

First trailer released for SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING, following his appearance in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR.  The trailer shows off Tom Holland as Spider-Man, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark mentoring the young super hero, and Michael Keaton as The Vulture.

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Marvel Studios’ “Captain: Civil War,” begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging superhero in “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”  The film is directed by Jon Watts, and they both appeared on stage at Comic-Con.

Director Jon Watts described SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING as a “high-school movie, the ground level of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”  The footage revealed at Comic-Con showed what a typical high school day is like for Peter Parker with a hint at the main villain, The Vulture (Michael Keaton), at the end of the clip.
