Marvel Studios reached an agreement with Sony Pictures for the rights to Spider-Man to include the web slinger in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR. The re-imagined Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man gets his first solo film with SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING opening July 7, 2017. With Tom Holland as Spider-Man, the film also stars Marissa Tomei as Aunt May. Robert Downey Jr. will also appear as the iconic Marvel super hero Iron Man.

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Marvel Studios’ “Captain: Civil War,” begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging superhero in “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” The film is directed by Jon Watts, and they both appeared on stage at Comic-Con.
Full cast includes: Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, with Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr.
Director Jon Watts described SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING as a “high-school movie, the ground level of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.” The footage revealed at Comic-Con showed what a typical high school day is like for Peter Parker with a hint at the main villain, The Vulture (Michael Keaton), at the end of the clip.
