Original post from February 12, 2017 follows below

Avengers Assemble! As Marvel’s AVENGERS INFINITY WAR has officially started production. AVENGERS INFINITY WAR will be the culmination of Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and where the Avengers, meet Guardians of the Galaxy, meet Spider-Man, to team up to fight Thanos. AVENGERS INFINITY WAR will hit theaters May 4, 2018, with the second part following on May 3, 2019.  Continue reading for Marvel’s video featurette from the first day of production, and we’ll continue to update this post as more information becomes available.

Avengers Infinity War

Marvel Studios revealed a teaser featurette from the first day of production on the set January 23, 2017, and we know from Day 1 that the Avengers will meet the Guardians of the Galaxy.  In the video below, Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man), Tom Holland (Peter Parker/Spider-Man) and Chris Pratt (Peter Quill/Star-Lord) talk about the first day of filming, and Marvel Studios President and Executive Producer Kevin Feige talks about the big picture of building towards AVENGERS INFINITY WAR.

More than 10 years in the making, since IRON MAN (2008), AVENGERS INFINITY WAR ties together an entire series of films, resulting in the Avengers finally facing off with Thanos and his Gauntlet of Infinity Stones. Thanos will be, without a doubt, the most threatening villain the Avengers team has ever faced.

Ahead of Marvel’s AVENGERS INFINITY WAR, three Marvel Cinematic Universe films hit the big screen in 2017 including GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, Vol. 2 May 5, SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING July 7 (Sony Pictures), and THOR: RAGNAROK Nov 3.  Be sure to stick around through all the credits for the 2017 MCU films, as I’m sure there will be plenty of hints and teases for the upcoming INFINITY WAR. Lets get this party started with the hype machine now!
