If you couldn’t make it to see the “Great American Eclipse” in its totality, then you can watch direct from Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas. The ship is positioning itself for the optimal spot at sea for its guests to witness the total solar eclipse today, August 21, 2017, and you can watch the live feed from onboard the Oasis of the Seas starting at 2:30pm ET.
The optimal viewing area along the eclipse’s path stretches across the country from Oregon to South Carolina before passing over the Atlantic Ocean. On this trajectory, the sun will be entirely covered by the moon. Royal Caribbean’s Chief Meteorologist James Van Fleet and Oasis of the Seas Captain Per Kristoffersen are currently collaborating to navigate toward the path of totality for the Great American Eclipse – a celestial phenomenon 99 years in the making.
In addition, Bonnie Tyler and DNCE will perform a never-before-heard duet of the iconic 80s power ballad “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” As Oasis of the Seas sails towards the path of totality, the international first lady of rock will join multi-platinum selling band DNCE as part of an exclusive concert in the ship’s signature outdoor AquaTheater, commemorating the cruise line’s once-in-a-lifetime Total Eclipse Cruise.
The 7-night Total Eclipse Cruise on board Oasis of the Seas set sail August 20, 2017 from Orlando (Port Canaveral), Florida and will visit eastern Caribbean destinations: Phillipsburg, St. Maarten; Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas; and Nassau, Bahamas.
