You don’t always need an upscale resort vacation. Sometimes we just need a clean, comfortable, room for the night. That’s just what we had when Motel 6 hosted us at their recently opened Motel 6 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Our daughter, who’s a senior in high school, was invited to an interview for the undergraduate theater design program at the University of Michigan. After the 6.5+ hour drive from Rochester to Ann Arbor, we needed a restful night to recover the drive and get ready for the next day’s interview. Super-friendly Maurice welcomed us to town, checked us in, and directed us to our room.
The Motel 6 Ann Arbor had upgraded their rooms with wood-laminate floors, flat-screen TV, and a microwave & fridge. The bathroom was a little small – with the tub, shower, and toilet it was a little tight to shut the door once inside, but we made it work. More importantly, the two queen size beds were comfortable, and there was even a little nook for my daughter to get some work done to ready herself for the next day’s interview.
The next morning came fast, we woke up, showered, dressed, and headed out to the University of Michigan for my daughter’s interview. I admit to being a bit biased, but have to say I thought her interview went incredibly well. Thanks to Motel 6 for leaving the light on for us!
