Original Star Wars Cast Officially Reunited for Star Wars VII

“This will be a day long remembered…” Darth Vader  “We’re getting the band back together!” Jake and Elwood Blues

Finally, LucasFilm Ltd. released the official cast for Star Wars VII, and the worst kept secret in Hollywood was confirmed, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford are all back to reprise their roles as Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Han Solo, respectively.  That’s not all, the men behind the masks (or costumes) Anthony Daniels (C3PO), Kenny Baker (R2D2), and Peter Mayhew (as Chewbacca) also return to the Star Wars franchise.  But where’s Lando?  Where’s Wicket?  After Billy Dee Williams’ recent appearance on Dancing With The Stars, and Lando Calrissian’s transformation from scoundrel to hero, it seemed almost certain Lando would appear in Star Wars VII.  And Warwick Davis played Wicket in Return of the Jedi, Wald in Episode I, worked with Lucas as Willow, and multiple roles in the Harry Potter film series.  Surely, there would have been spot for Warwick Davis in Star Wars VII.  Well, enough about the past, let’s look to the future, cue the John Williams score as Star Wars VII opens in theaters on December 18, 2015.  Continue reading for the official release from Star Wars.com.
