40 Years of STAR WARS Collectibles on Display at Rancho Obi-Wan Gala

On Saturday November 4th, members of Rancho Obi-Wan and Star Wars fans from across the globe gathered in Petaluma, California for the 6th annual Rancho Obi-Wan Gala. For those not familiar, Rancho Obi-Wan is a California nonprofit, and home to the world’s largest collection of Star Wars memorabilia and artifacts. This year’s Gala celebrating 40 Years of Star Wars collecting again highlighted founder Steve Sansweet’s amazing collection, the world’s largest privately-owned Star Wars collection. With amazing new displays and additions to the collection and museum is forever growing and expanding for its members to enjoy. The Rancho Obi-Wan Gala featured a live auction with exclusive rare and high-end items, a silent auction with amazing Star Wars collectibles, a balloon pop with fun Star Wars prizes, a toy store where you were allowed to purchase duplicate items from Steven’s collection, and a bounty hunt game with prices to collect throughout the evening.

New this year was a Texas Hold’em poker tournament, this limited entry poker tournament held in Jabba’s Palace featured 27 participants vying for special souvenirs and prices.

Returning again for its second year and hosted by Skywalking Vineyards, a wine and olive oil tasting was held. With each guest receiving special souvenirs and the opportunity to sample some of the finest wines and olive oils from California produced at the world famous Skywalker Ranch vineyard.

The yearly Gala offers members the opportunity to explore the shelves at the Rancho Obi-Wan at your leisure, chatting with the volunteers and Museum docents.
