Marvel’s AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Blu-ray Available August 14

The AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Blu-ray is now available. You can bring home the film that surpassed the $2 billion mark at the global box office in just 48 days, and remains the fourth highest-grossing film of all time. In our review of AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, Sarah and Richard Woloski said the film lives up to its colossal build up of 10 years and 18 films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Continue reading for our thoughts on the AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Blu-ray, and whether you should add this version to your collection.

As you recover from Thanos’ snap, you KNOW you want to add the AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Blu-ray to your collection so you can see your superhero friends again. It’s a long wait for INFINITY WAR 2, and fortunately there’s plenty of bonus scenes on the AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Blu-ray to occupy your time while you wait. For the in depth dive, co-directors Anthony and Joe Russo provide an audio commentary of the film along with screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. I love hearing the insight behind the creative choices made by the writers and directors.

Make sure you get access to the digital version of AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, as it contains a 30-minute roundtable discussion with MCU directors Anthony and Joe Russo, Jon Favreau, Joss Whedon, James Gunn, Ryan Coogler, Peyton Reed and Taika Waititi who reflect on how their movies contribute to the MCU’s larger storytelling adventure. It’s interesting to see Joss Whedon back in the Marvel fold after stepping away following AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON.

At times Marvel gets a bit self-congratulatory about the 10 year anniversary and build-up to AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR. Producer Kevin Feige appears in multiple clips discussing the films leading up to AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR and the culminating achievement of this film. Makes you wonder what Marvel Studios has planned for the next phase of films? For more family movie news, be sure to follow Adventures by Daddy on instagramtwitter and “like” our facebook page too.
